WHY PHOTOGRAPHY?
As a wedding photographer of 12 years, I have experienced a gorgeous range of weddings that have allowed me to capture the most vulnerable and happiest moments. Each wedding has allowed me to experience a creative style that forms a beautifully documented storybook of my couples day. I capture frames that make you feel like you are right back there again. Capturing the new connections between two families, laughter of little children. The pure joy of your friends as they raise their drink and celebrate with you. The immersive memories you want to feel all over again when you see your photos.
I allow the day to flow as it naturally should, which means I won’t interrupt or change moments as they are happening. I work in a way where I blend into the couple’s party and act like a guest so they hardly see me. This gives me the chance to capture the moments in the corner of your eye, or off to the side that wouldn’t be captured if it was staged. Whilst leading up to the couple’s wedding day I keep in touch to understand the logistics of the day and what they might need from me, so when it comes to the day of celebrations I am ready and equipped with the information I need to start creating their story. I allow my couples to feel comfortable and ready for moments where I take them off for portraits. I want my couples to feel like they can ease into these moments without the pressures of a schedule or timings. I want you to feel present on your wedding and feel the joy and happiness surrounding you.
MY STYLE
My style is relaxed, natural and un-obtrusive. I observe the room finding pockets of conversations and connections. By taking a step back, I can spot people meeting for the first time, children laughing and running around carefree and grandparents looking at their grandchild in their beautiful wedding dress with such a loving gaze. I capture the moving moments of the swishing dresses, hugs of your nearest and dearest, and the outrageous dance floor moves!
My editing style is warm and rich. I authenticate similar colour to a 35mm film, so you feel a sense of timeless colour and style. I play with natural light and dark shadows to portray the feeling of the day as it moves through your images.
I want my couples to interact with each other no different to if I wasn’t in the room. To allow them to feel themselves, be giddy and giggly and experiencing a new level of love and appreciation for each other.
Whilst your wedding photos are so important, spending time with your loved ones is the top priority. I ask all my couples to let me know how much time they would like to spend having their portraits taken during cocktail hour. The day goes by so quickly, so spend it wisely and I’ll focus on capturing all the gorgeous moments that piece your wedding day together.
